As read in other reviews, the bed does not stay open as shown in the picture, unless it's positioned just right. I got this for a kitten and she seems to lie on top of it more than get into it, but she seems to use it daily. we got this for our Dashound "Hot dog" She is always getting under all the blankets. So this just looks like the best thing... She loves it, and I don't have to keep a blanket out for her any more.... Good idea, not only for cat, but dog love it too...
