Meh. Perhaps I was looking for a different product. I am disabled and pretty weak; I wanted to be able to open sodas and the like by myself. It does not grip on it's own, one has to be strong enough to grip the handles together tightly. I think it would work well if I was just lightly not strong enough to open things and/or had very sticky things to open and was not this weak. My bad! I guess it's for girls, not the disabled ;-)

Most of the time product works as expected. However I have small hands, and sometimes the spread of the handles is too wide to hold and the opener cannot be used. The teeth of the opener slipped on one smooth jar lid and failed to perform. This opener seems durable and better than some (which broke after a month or so), but not as reliable as I had hoped. I would recommend it to a friend under certain circumstances.
